Everyone is talking about MEDITATION! From Dan Harris best selling book 10% Happier to apps like Headspace, groups like The Path and meditation studios like MDFL, there are many different styles and ways we can meditate. I think that’s amazing and if we can all share the gift of self knowledge, acceptance and peace, this world will greatly benefit from the effects of the practice.

Through practice and study, I developed a huge appreciation and love for meditation. The physical poses in yoga is what brought me to the mat but it was the silence and observation of myself that made me realize there is so much more to the practice of yoga that I can ever imagine.

I teach meditation as it was taught to me by my teacher Yogi Charu. Yogi Charu is an inducted disciple of the Saraswati lineage, one of the ten classical monk orders in India founded by Adi Sankaracharya in the 8th century.

The following meditation sessions took place at a professional recording studio in Brooklyn, NY. The sound quality is awesome. There are two yoga nidra sessions and one gratitude meditation. I hope you like them.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a meditation practice done entirely laying down - in a comfortable and quiet space. The yoga pose Savasana (corpse pose is done by laying on your back) has been called the most important pose you can do.

The benefits of Savasana include rest, relaxation and release. There are studies to support that Savasana relaxes the central nervous system and reduces blood pressure, anxiety and stress, releases fatigue, tension and improves sleep.

Enjoy the art of conscious relaxation!

Gratitude Meditation

The yoga culture teaches us that where our awareness goes, our energy flows. We have to make an effort to build and strengthen the qualities for love, gratitude, compassion, happiness and acceptance. This seated meditation focuses on what we are grateful for in our world. Think of gratitude like a muscle - the more you use it, the stronger it gets!
